For laser engraving, the process involves using a computer-controlled laser for etching designs onto the surface of the crystal. The laser creates a high-heat beam that vaporises the crystal, leaving behind a design that appears to be suspended in the crystal.
There is also sandblast etching where a special transfer is made and adhered to the glass and then masked and sandblasted. With this process, deep or multi-depth engraving can be achieved.
Our latest technology is for 2D and 3D sub-surface engraving in optical grade crystal. This is where a photo or logo can be engraved in the centre of the glass. This is a very intricate and time-consuming process, but well worth the effort.
